Antimalarial

  • LUMEFANTRINE 120MG + ARTEMETHER 20MG

Lumefantrine is an antimalarial agent used to treat acute uncomplicated malaria. It is administered in combination with artemether for improved efficacy. Lumefantrine is a blood schizonticide active against erythrocytic stages of Plasmodium.
Artemether is an antimalarial agent used to treat acute uncomplicated malaria. It involves an interaction with ferriprotoporphyrin IX (heme), or ferrous ions, in the acidic parasite food vacuole, which results in the generation of cytotoxic radical species.

  • QUININE SULPHATE 300MG

An alkaloid derived from the bark of the cinchona tree. It is used as an antimalarial drug. The drug interferes with the parasites ability to break down and digest hemoglobin. Consequently, the parasite starves and/or builds up toxic levels of partially degraded hemoglobin in itself.
